Why Game Of Thrones' Kit Harington Has Been Seen On The Set, According To The Actor

There might be Game of Thrones spoilers below, but maybe not, because who knows at this point?

Dallas has a TV show’s season finale taken over the national conversation the way Game of Thrones’ Season 5 ender did when Jon Snow became the potentially fatal victim of multiple stabbings by his Night Watch brethren.

But then, Dallas fans didn’t have to wait nearly ten months to discover how badly J.R. was hurt, and despite widespread disbelief that Jon died there in the snow, the majority of the show’s cast and crew have been steadfast in their claims that the bastard of the Stark lineage is dead as a doornail. And actor Kit Harington is once again laying those sentiments out, with more details than usual.

I was there for a little bit, I was there for about a month or two months, it was spread over a bit and I was playing a corpse. . . .I won’t tell you how many episodes I’m lying dead but it’s enough that I was out there for quite a while. It’s going to be so satisfying when you see it and you realize that I was telling the truth the whole time.

No more beating around the bush for this guy. I recall the days at the beginning of last summer when the weather was just lightly different than it is today, and Kit Harington was still very much tight-lipped about what his character’s time in Season 6 would consist of. But apparently someone, likely showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, told the actor that he could get a little off the cuff when talking about what fans can expect from Jon Snow. Congrats to those hoping and predicting that he would just be lying around for a long time, still wounded but not breathing anymore.

Some actors can’t even convince their friends and family that they’re alive, such as Liam Cunningham, but that’s not Harington’s game. He’s been a part of Team Jon Is Dead since the beginning, strong enough that fans have just assumed he’s been lying this whole time, along with everyone else.  And this latest quote likely won’t soothe anyone, since corpses on Game of Thrones usually don’t show up for more than just a quick funeral scene. Perhaps the Night Watch will be using Jon’s corpse as some kind of a message to other potential “traitors.” Do they have glass coffins in Westeros?

According to Metro, Harington kept up the possible façade, saying this when asked by talk show host Jonathan Ross how he can keep the show’s secrets.

I am no longer involved in the show so any secrets that are with the show I don’t actually know anymore, so it becomes very easy, Jonathan.

Ugh, that guy. For the time being, we’re trying to get our minds off of he who knows nothing and more into everything that we do know is coming, based on the excellent trailers that HBO has been putting out. After all, Jon Snow is far from the only important character in this vast landscape. 

Game of Thrones will debut Season 6 on Sunday, April 24, and that might even include letting audiences in on whether or not Jon Snow is actually dead. Your guess is as good as mine at this point.
