Boyfriend in soup over lover’s death



A young man,  Olarenwanju Olorunfemi and a lady have  been arrested over  alleged role in the procurement of fatal abortion for a teenage girl.
Both Olorunfemi and his alleged accomplice, Sadiat Akeem have been remanded in prison custody by an Ado Ekiti Magistrate Court, over the death of a girl, Fumbi Taiwo, who died over complications, arising from abortion.
Olorunfemi and Akeem were fingered in the fatal abortion which led to the death of Taiwo.
Police prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 25 at Ilawe-Ekiti,  Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
He alleged that the accused, who was the boyfriend of the deceased conspired with the deceased’s  friend, Sadiat to unlawfully murder her through abortion.
According to him, the accused committed an offence contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16,Laws of Ekiti state. 2012.
He added that he had duplicated and sent their case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutor (DPP) for legal advice.
The plea of the accused were not taken as their counsel, Mr Tunde Olayemi sought for a date of adjournment pending the advice of DPP legal advice.
Magistrate Ropo Adegboye, ordered the remand of the duo in Prison custody till the outcome of  DPP advice.
