Buhari, Jonathan in midnight meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari and former President Goodluck Jonathan met behind closed-door on Thursday night.
Impeccable sources in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said Jonathan arrived after activities had wound down for the day at the State House.
Jonathan, who was out of Nigeria for about one month before returning on Wednesday night, was said to have discussed various issues with Buhari.
It was gathered that Jonathan’s return to Nigeria on Wednesday was to be a part of the team to receive Buhari for the launch of the clean-up exercise in Ogoniland.
However, with the last minute decision of Buhari not to attend the event in person, but to send Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Jonathan too stayed away from the event.
He rather headed in the direction of Abuja, where he met with Buhari for about one hour.
Though it could not be confirmed the exact nature of the discussion, sources said it would have centred around the resurgence of the Niger Delta crisis.
Some media reports had it that security reports had linked the new militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, to Jonathan.
However, sources close to the former president have distanced him from the group.
There have also been reports that Jonathan would be arrested any moment from now for his alleged role in the numerous financial scandals that have rocked his administration.
This was further heightened by a report in a national daily that Jonathan had sought asylum on Cote d’Ivoire owing to this.
However, the former president himself dispelled this report, returning to the country about a week after that.
